EASTERN UNIVERSITY MEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACHING STAFF


HARRY BITZBERGER

Head Coach

In June of 2022, Harry Bitzberger became the second head coach in Eastern Men's Volleyball program history. As he has served on the Eastern Women's Volleyball staff since 2019, Bitzberger is familiar with the University and the department. He brings a vast array of coaching and leadership experiences to the program.

Bitzberger graduated from the the Virginia Military Institute and began his coaching career while serving. as an officer in the military. After four years of service, he moved into the corporate world in the healthcare industry. He transitioned into small business ownership and returned to coaching when his children started showing interest in athletics. He coached a wide variety of sports. He found success in volleyball where he became a West Division Director at East Coast Power and helped develop the girls program at West Chester's Rustin High School.

He has coached at every age in the club. He is a believer in lifelong learning and has continued his education through USA Volleyball and Gold Medal Squared. He has a Master's Degree from the University of Arkansas.

Bitzberger is committed to using athletics to develop young people and to building Eastern Men's Volleyball into a premier program.


BRIAN MILLARD

Assistant Coach

Brian Millard is excited to enter his fifth season with the Eastern Eagles. As an Assistant Coach, Brian will focus on player development, in-game statistics, and contribute to the overall strategy, execution, and management of the team dynamics.

Prior to joining Eastern, he coached junior girls at all levels at Vortex Volleyball Club. Brian has a degree in Mathematics from Bloomsburg University.


JACKI CURCI

Assistant Coach

Jacquelyn Curci joins the Eastern University Men's Volleyball staff as a full-time assistant coach, working closely with Coach Bitzberger to enhance all facets of the program. Her wealth of experience and passion for the sport are invaluable assets to the team. A graduate of West Chester University, Jacquelyn earned her degree in history, complemented by a minor in education, which has shaped her approach to coaching and mentorship

With a coaching career that began in 2007, Jacquelyn has successfully led both boys' and girls' volleyball teams at various levels, including club and high school. Notable highlights include multiple playoff achievements with Council Rock South High School Girls Program 2018-2020, two conference championships with the Central Bucks East girls’ program in 2021, and 2022 and guiding the Central Bucks East boys’ volleyball team to PIAA State appearances in 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Jacquelyn serves as the boys’ club director for TNT Volleyball, where she also coaches the 16's national team, showcasing her commitment to developing young athletes in the sport.

Jacki's coaching philosophy centers on the belief that the game itself is the best teacher. She emphasizes the importance of live play situations, advocating for a well-rounded development approach that fosters teamwork and resilience. Encouraging players to push their limits, she values growth through risk-taking and learning from mistakes. Her focus on challenging and intentional practices allows athletes to engage deeply with the game, enter flow states, and derive genuine enjoyment from their preparation and performance. Jacquelyn's dedication to cultivating a positive and developmental environment will undoubtedly propel the Eastern University Men’s Volleyball program to new heights.
